Westminster: The new Ceiling at the Oxford & Cambridge Club

The Oxford and Cambridge Club currently accepts members only from the two universities. With references to fountains of knowledge, to gardens of learning, to courts and quads, to degree scrolls, and to just a few stars, this ceiling achieves the twin aims of being one which Smirke might easily have done in 1838, whilst offering a contemporary vigour of its own too. There was no information to be found regarding its original decoration; it had, in any case, been altered by Blomfield in 1907.
