St. Ethelburga's, Bishopsgate (with Purcell)

In 1993, the IRA detonated a huge truck bomb in Bishopsgate which killed one, injured forty and almost completely destroyed this ancient mediaeval church. The rebuilding was planned under our direction, including an earlier scheme which won Planning Consent and was exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition but for which funding could not be found. The church is now the Centre for Reconciliation and Peace.
