Cambridge: Proposed Entrance to the new Porters' Lodge at Jesus College

The Porters' Lodge of any college is a pivotal place, having to meet the needs of security, post, parcels, reception and much more. Jesus is one of the many colleges which has needed to expand the Lodge to cope. Unusually, here it has been possible to conceal the new accommodation behind the wall on the left.  Better still, by copying a gate in the opposite wall (both walls are Grade 2 Listed) we expect to be able to create a more secure entry into the college for night-time use. Following many months of careful negotiation, Listed Building and Planning Consents were received in February 2017.  We expect construction to commence shortly.
